Maybe that's my toxic side but that's just who I am,” explained the producer, continuing to explain the unique way she treated the VMA before her performance.
Rose said, “I was with Kanye at the time. We were getting in the car, we were going to the VMAs and I said, 'Dad, you have a bottle of Hennessy up.' [red] the carpet.' I'm kicking him out. He's like, 'Yeah, let me go get some Henny.'
“I'm just like that as a girlfriend, but it backfired because all of a sudden I'm sitting on the stage with him, I'm like, 'Oh s***, I didn't expect that,'” added Rose.
West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the awards ceremony, telling the audience that Beyoncé's “Single Ladies” video should have won instead of the pop star's “You Belong With Me” video.
“Yeah, Taylor, I'm so happy for you, let me finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of anyone who ever lived! One of the best videos ever,” the rapper said at the time, sparking a feud between West and Swift that has gripped fans ever since.
Looking back, Rose said, “That's Kanye's natural personality. Do I agree with the way he did it? No. But was he right? Yes.”
Regarding her relationship with Swift, Rose said she and the “Fortnight” singer never had an argument about her boyfriend's behavior at the time.
