Barack Obama Looks To Reject Trump: 'The Bar Has Changed'

Stephen Colbert it asked Barack Obama for advice on running for president — and some shade seemed to be thrown President Donald Trump.
“I'm looking for a new gig soon, and a lot of people are telling me I should run for president,” Colbert, 61, said during the Tuesday, May 6, episode. The Late Show with Stephen Colbertreferring to the cancellation of the show. “For the record, I think it's a stupid idea.”
Obama, 64, told Colbert that he “definitely” has presidential looks.
“How dumb do you think it is that people are saying I should run for president?” Colbert continued.

“Well, you know, the bar has changed,” Obama said with a laugh. Colbert noted that it's “underground,” which got another laugh from the former president.
“Let me put it this way, I think you can do a lot better than some of the people we've seen,” Obama continued. “I have a lot of confidence in that.”

Obama made it clear, however, that his comments were “not” a guarantee that Colbert would run.
Obama – who was president from 2009 to 2017 – recently revealed that the position of President Trump has made him continue to work in politics “more than I would have liked,” which may have affected his marriage to his wife. Michelle Obama.

Trump and Barack have also had a back and forth over aliens. Barack made headlines in February when he revealed that aliens are “real,” while Trump accused him of sharing “secret information” with the public.
“He shouldn't have done that. I don't know if they're real or not,” Trump added. “You shouldn't be doing that. You made a big mistake. You leaked confidential information.”
