Zayn Malik hospitalized, recovering on album release date

Zayn Malik hospitalized after an undisclosed health scare.
“To my fans – thank you all for your love and support now and always,” Malik, 33, wrote on his Instagram Stories on Friday, April 17.[It’s] it's been a long week again [I] I'm still recovering unexpectedly.”
Malik, who uploaded a selfie of himself wearing a hospital gown in a hospital bed, went on to reveal that he feels “painful” about missing fan events.
“It hurts my heart not to see you all this week, I wouldn't be where I am today without you guys,” he said. “[I] thank you very much for your understanding.”
Malik, who did not disclose the nature of his health scare, went on to thank the hospital staff.
“Thank you to the wonderful hospital staff [doctors]the nurses, the cardiologist, the managers, the managers and everyone who has helped along the way and continues,” he concluded.” “You are all legends! Much love.”
Malik dropped his fifth album, Konnakolon Friday ahead of his concert scheduled for New York City on Monday, April 20. The NYC gig, at Rough Trade Below, was supposed to be Malik's debut. I Konnakol Tour next month.
It is not known whether Malik will cancel or postpone his upcoming concerts. Previously he was happy to share Konnakol and followers.

“I went into the studio, I was booked for 14 days… the process was trying to create this idea that I had in my mind that didn't exist anywhere else,” he said. This is India in a profile published earlier this month. “There was no point that I could refer to or say, 'I want it to be like this.' Even though I was drawing on Konnakol in terms of process and bringing in South Asian influences, it was still something that I was pitching to the Western market, and I wanted it to still be R&B but have that flavor.”
He continued, “I had to relax a bit on the mic and see what came naturally and build from there. We started with a click, without even a drum, which gave us a starting point, and we built the track around ad-libs and Konnakol influences, then we wrote over the track in English.”
For Malik, it was important to put his legacy on record.
“It's always important that I put my culture into things because I feel that's what makes me who I am,” she said. “There aren't many Indian-Pakistani artists here in the West who know the world, so it makes it unique and individual.”
