Tyson Fury's Everest Base Camp Fight Fantasy

Tyson Fury's idea of fighting in a Mount Everest camp sounds more like a survival challenge than a regular boxing event when the physical reality of the terrain is considered.
“I want to fight in the Mount Everest camp, I want to go to the camp [then fight],” said Tyson Fury to Furocity.
“It's something I want to do before I retire.”
Everest Base Camp it sits at about 5,364 meters above sea level, approx 17,600 feet. That's still about 3,000 meters below the mountain's infamous “death zone,” where oxygen levels become too low for the human body to properly acclimate. Despite being well below that level, the trek to the camp alone is daunting for some visitors due to the altitude, terrain, and fatigue.
The usual route to Everest Base Camp in general it takes about eight days because climbers cannot climb quickly without increasing the risk of severe mountain sickness. Fury's proposal would mean spending more than a week in thin air before attempting to compete in a boxing match at nearly 17,600 feet.
A fatality reported near the Everest Base Camp route earlier this month has highlighted the dangers of this area and below the summit routes. A Nepali guide is reported to have died at a distance of 5,200 meters near Gorak Shep while on his way to the camp.
Circumstances also cause problems beyond the height itself. Nighttime temperatures near the camp often fall below freezing during the climbing season, while rugged terrain and light winds can leave hikers exhausted before reaching the site.'
Even attending this event may require tourists because the route to the camp involves days of hiking in difficult terrain with only basic accommodations along the way.
Fury did not say who he would want to fight at base camp or if the event would be an exhibition or a professional fight. The former heavyweight champion has increasingly floated ideas for unconventional events in recent years as boxing continues to move into promotions driven by viewership tied to broadcast arenas and destination events.
The return trip from the camp still took another four or five days after the climb. Fury's proposal would involve spending more than a week walking in the desert, sleeping in teahouses in cold conditions, and burning off a lot of energy at high altitude before entering the ring.
Fury's proposal would also require the full fight to be moved to one of the world's harshest locations, including producers, officials, equipment, and a boxing ring at the highest altitude.
By the time Fury arrived at Everest Base Camp, the rigors of the journey alone would have left even a trained heavyweight exhausted before the first punch was thrown.
