Tottenham boss approve third signing behind Senesi with player eager to join

A close call to collapse has forced Tottenham Hotspur to make a decisive move ahead of the summer transfer window, with three signings already in place.
Romano drops a big update on Tottenham and Sensi
To say it's been a big summer for Tottenham would be a huge understatement. They must get things right if Roberto De Zerbi is to guide them back into European contention and away from the dropzone.
Those in North London are well aware of the challenge ahead of them, too. Club chief executive Peter Charrington has written a letter to fans admitting the past two seasons have been unacceptable – saying: “We didn't have the right expertise in important jobs.
“A 17th-place finish in a row is unacceptable, and we will not dress it up as anything other than falling short of what is expected of this club.”
Modric at Spurs: Tottenham make £35m move for midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur are continuing their transfer plans after avoiding relegation.
With that failure in mind, however, those in North London have already begun plans to welcome reinforcements this summer. With Andy Robertson already on the way, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Spurs have reached an agreement to sign Marcos Senesi after his contract at Bournemouth expires.
The Lilywhites have reportedly agreed a deal to sign the defender in another major move ahead of De Zerbi's first full season in charge. But they don't end there.
According to TeamTalk, Spurs chiefs have agreed to the permanent signing of Joao Palhinha.
The midfielder could be the club's third signing of the window already, with ENIC very busy at the start of the summer, with Palhinha keen to complete the move permanently.
“What I can tell you is that I would really like to be here and I'm really enjoying this season as this team has had a difficult season.”
Why Palhinha justified the move to Spurs forever
The news that Palhinha could make a permanent move should be music to the ears of everyone at Tottenham. The midfielder took time to win over the fans, but will forever be in his history after scoring the club's last Premier League goal on the final day against Everton.
If that's not enough to justify a permanent move, not much will be. The Bayern Munich man proved to be one of the most consistent names on the team sheet as the club welcomed and sacked Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor, before landing De Zerbi.
All current signs suggest that Palhinha will be a permanent Spurs player. Now it remains for the club to negotiate with Bayern to complete the deal.
