Tim Sherwood insists he will keep Tottenham in the Premier League

After watching Tottenham Hotspur get demolished by rivals Nottingham Forest, one manager has insisted he will keep the club in the Premier League.

Mistakes will be against the Spurs, Saltor said

A draw at Anfield followed by Igor Tudor's first win in charge of Atletico Madrid, despite Spurs exiting the Champions League, changed the script in North London.

Suddenly, there was hope. There was a consensus that relegation concerns would be put to rest, starting with the Nottingham Forest game.

The fans did their part. They gave their side a hero's welcome, despite recent struggles. Starting in the morning against Crystal Palace, fans turned out in droves to give Spurs the 12th man they had been longing for. The ball is then in the players' court. And to say they didn't bring them would be an understatement.

In the end, not much has changed. Any progress made last week quickly vanished when Igor Jesus opened the scoring, before Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi put the visitors 3-0 up.

The fire that looks like it may be about to grow bigger than before. The Lilywhites, with seven games to play, sit just one point above the dropzone.

Tottenham are considering sacking Tudor as a 'complete' plan is fast falling into their laps

The Lilywhites have been given the 'perfect' opportunity to make a change.

In Tudor's place following the death of his father, Tottenham coach Bruno Saltor told reporters: “All the mistakes at the moment are against us, all the information is against us and affects the players.

“You can see how much they fought. We are in a difficult situation, everyone knows. In the first half we were the better team and we need to match that.”

Questions have also been raised about Tudor's future and one manager is ready to replace the Croatian player, saying he will keep Spurs in the Premier League.

Sherwood insists he will keep Spurs in the Premier League

Speaking on Sky Sports, Tim Sherwood said he will keep Spurs in the Premier League and that he will just use “common sense” to do so.

Sherwood, who managed 28 games for the club in the 2013/14 season, made his last professional appearance in 2015 when he was sacked by Aston Villa, before the club were eventually relegated in the same campaign.

“I don't think it's too late. I will keep them in the Premier League. I believe that there is a reasonable person who will keep them in the Premier League. They have the quality to be able to do that. You have to make them feel good again, you have to get confidence in the team.”

With seven games left to play, Spurs will have natural skeptics when it comes to Sherwood's message.

The last thing they should do is hand over the reins to a manager whose last Premier League job was more than 10 years ago and someone who has never enjoyed a survival battle. In their minds, that may be common sense.
