The Liverpool goalie played his last game for Juventus and is about to leave

It looks as though Gleison Bremer may have played his last game for Juventus, with Liverpool's interest sparking major exit concerns in Italy.

Liverpool are looking for a defensive upgrade

As questions continue to arise over Arne Slot's future, Liverpool are looking to show their support for the Dutchman in the upcoming transfer window.

FSG already spent big last summer, breaking their transfer record twice to bring in Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, but have watched their side drop to fifth since then. While that will be enough to qualify for the Champions League, it is not enough to reach Liverpool's top tier.

Another change is needed and that change can start at center back. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are aiming to sign Bremer from Juventus this summer.

The Brazilian player is reported to be about to leave the club in Turin. This means he may have played his last game for Juve after being suspended before the final day of the campaign, spoiling any proper farewell.

Bremer, meanwhile, is poised to complete a move to the club fighting for the highest honours, with both Manchester United and Liverpool vying for his signature as a result.

With Ibrahima Konate edging closer to becoming a free agent, Liverpool must act with great urgency at the start of the transfer window.

Liverpool fans, is Bremer good enough to replace Konate this summer?

Despite the Frenchman's disappointing form this season, losing a player of his caliber at a time when there is so much uncertainty will still represent a huge blow. That's why Bremer, 29, could be a strong option to turn to this summer.

“The best in the world” Bremer can replace Konate

Take Konate out of the squad and Liverpool are left with Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires next year, the injury-prone Joe Gomez, and young defenders Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet. It's far from ideal.

By adding Bremer, the Anfield chiefs will be receiving much-needed experience in their back line, whether he finds himself behind Leoni or Jacquet in pursuit. The Reds know more than most how important defensive depth can be in the Premier League.

The Juventus star has certainly received high praise for his time in Italy, too. Former manager Igor Tudor even called the defender “the best in the world” in his position a few years ago. Now, he has the chance to prove that status alongside Van Dijk.

As a duo, Bremer and Van Dijk can complement each other well. Where Liverpool's captain does not like to return assets at a high price, Bremer thrives in that area. Likewise, Van Dijk has a better duel record than the Juventus man. They would solve each other's weaknesses.

Whether Liverpool turn their interest into a serious move now is the big question ahead of the summer.
