The club are ready to get off the green light on one condition as Celtic race to sign the star

Celtic have finally started their summer business with the arrival of Camilo Duran. The player arrives hoping to solve the striker problem after scoring five goals in 10 Champions League games last season.
One signing can now quickly become two if the Bhoys turn their interest into an official route for Stade Reims' Mory Gbane. The French club are ready to let their midfielder leave under one condition this summer.

Honesty |
Celtic transfers may be similar to London buses as they receive one before receiving another at the same time. Well, there is still a long way to go in the pursuit of Gbane and the midfielder has the strongest interest of all the Bhoys. |
|
Finance |
Reims are happy to sell their midfielder, but only if the clubs meet their price. It remains to be seen what that amount is, but that shouldn't stop Celtic from starting to make contact with their superstar. |
|
Understanding |
Standing at 6'2, Gbane will provide a solid foundation in Celtic's midfield, having made nearly six defensive contributions per game in France's second division last season. |
|
Impact |
Although Gbane is a different type of player, it will be interesting to see if the arrival of another midfielder hastens the exit of Arne Engels this summer. |
Gbane is a wanted man and his own have set the conditions for his sudden sale to Celtic.
Celtic have joined the race to sign Mory Gbane
According to Foot Mercato of France, Celtic are ready to sign Gbane, but they have been joined by West Ham United and Turkish team Trabzonspor in the race for the midfielder.
Reims is ready to green light Gbane's move on the condition that the clubs meet their price, which is expected to be a huge sum. Whether that changes anything for chasing clubs is a big question.
It is no secret that Celtic have not spent money freely in the last 12 months and that may not change as they look for Gbane.
Why Celtic should go for Gbane
They had to be patient, but Celtic are increasingly waking up in the transfer market. Duran is a great signing and Gbane can fit into that same bracket.
The towering midfielder will provide a fix for any defensive leaks and has the ability to convert defenses into attacks with his passing range – completing 2.94 accurate long balls per game last season. That trait, alone, should make him a prime candidate to succeed under Martin O'Neill, who is not afraid to play directly when necessary.
If Engels leaves, then swapping the Dane for a safer, more secure option wouldn't be a bad thing, either. This could provide balance to the Celtic midfielder, who have been lacking for the past 12 months.
