Philippe Senderos was blown away by what he saw at Arsenal's academy

It's been 22 years, but Arsenal are finally champions of England again.

It may not have a golden tint to it this time around, but Mikel Arteta won't mind. He took the Gunners out of oblivion. In an era focused on fan TV and nightmare wrestling at the hands of some of the top six.

The Spaniard has done what many once believed was impossible and could have a last-gasp victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

As for the players, forced to endure constant anxiety about crossing the line, they were able to focus more on their critics.

A jubilant Bukayo Saka has dismissed Arsenal's doubters as “laughing no more” as the club celebrate their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Players and staff gathered at the London Colney training ground to watch rivals Manchester City draw 1-1 with Bournemouth, securing the Gunners their first top-flight title since 2004 and 14th overall, with a game to spare.

City's draw at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday sparked unexpected scenes at Arsenal's training ground, and outside the Emirates Stadium, where thousands of supporters gathered to celebrate the club's success with fireworks and flares.

Much of the praise will go to Andrea Berta, Arteta and Arsenal's recruitment team, but an underrated aspect of the club's rebuild has been the Hale End academy. It played an important role and still produces incredibly talented voices.

Senderos praises Arsenal's “amazing” academy

Philippe Senderos, speaking to Football FanCast in association with Spreadex Sports, has heaped praise on the newly crowned champions.

The former defender, who was part of the Invincibles, was more than willing to praise the Hale End academy.

“I like that this Arsenal team has many players from this school.

“It shows how much Arsenal have done in the academy to develop players, not just to develop Premier League players, but to develop players who will play for Arsenal. This is an amazing achievement and we can see that this work continues as young players are brought into the team.”

The Hale End provided the foundations for Arsenal's first change, producing the likes of Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, and has even brought in the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, the former playing a key role this season.

As Max Dowman improves, the academy will continue to play a major role in the years to come, introducing some of North London's best to the title-winning team.
