Leeds are desperately trying to stop the 26-year-old from joining Tottenham or Aston Villa

Leeds are doing “everything” to stop defender Pascal Struijk from leaving the club this summer amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Tottenham and Aston Villa in the race for the Leeds star
The Dutch defender, who joined Leeds on a free transfer from 2018, is attracting interest from fellow relegation rivals Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Champions League chasers Aston Villa.
Newcastle are also in the mix, but Leeds are determined to do “everything they can” to prevent the 26-year-old from joining a top-flight rival.
This comes from a report by Football Insider, who reveal that the Yorkshire outfit are 'confident' of keeping Struijk at the club if they cannot retain their Premier League status.
Relegation will leave them with the 'opportunity' to leave the star who has played 28 times in the league this season and can cover either a defender or midfield.
Struijk contract and transfer fee
The former Ajax man didn't cost Leeds a penny when he joined as a teenager, but has grown to become one of Daniel Farke's most important players.
Struijk is now one of Leeds' top earners at £50,000-a-week – click for the full Leeds wage list – but is under contract until 2027, meaning the club will have to consider cashing in this summer if they can't sign him.

Leeds United Supporters' Trust says FA Cup semi-final date 'unacceptable'
Leeds United Supporters' Trust said it was “unacceptable” that the dates for the FA Cup semi-finals had not been confirmed.
The last four games at Wembley will take place on the weekend of April 25-26, with Leeds scheduled to play a rescheduled Premier League game at Bournemouth three days earlier.
Leeds reached the semi-finals for the first time in 39 years after Sunday's penalty shootout win at West Ham and fans are left confused about travel plans and hotel bookings.
LUST in a statement posted on social media said: “We have contacted Leeds United and the Football Supporters' Association to understand the delay in announcing the details of the FA Cup semi-final.
“Since they have discussed with the team, they are still in the dark waiting for the regulatory bodies, the police and broadcasters to make a final decision.
“We are all frustrated as it takes a long time to plan and the game is rescheduled during the week.
“It is not acceptable that we go to the fourth day since the teams were cheated, without any information that leaves thousands of fans confused.”
The FA has been approached for comment by the Press Association.
Leeds are expected to be given around 30,000 tickets for the trip to Wembley – the first time in four games since 1987 when they lost 3-2 to eventual winners Coventry after extra time.
Manchester City will face Southampton in the other semi-final and the other will clash with this year's London Marathon, which will take place on Sunday.
