Fabrizio Romano revealed the Man Utd manager is absolutely in love with Carrick's replacement

Michael Carrick is determined to take the job at Manchester United permanently and the Red Devils are 'very happy' with the young Englishman, but he is not a standout.
Man Utd latest: Carrick's future, Baleba deal
Fabrizio Romano shared a big update on Manchester United's summer plans this week, revealing they are still big fans of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
The Seagulls star agreed personal terms to move to Old Trafford last year, Romano said, and INEOS is expected to follow suit this time around, with United set to spend big on two new stadium additions.
Fabrizio Romano: Manchester United will sign new midfielders this summer
The Red Devils will be busy this summer.
The reporter also shared an update on the management situation, revealing that Carrick is gaining more favor than he already had with his attitude towards Carrington.
“You hear from within United that they are very happy – very happy – about Michael Carrick, more recently than ever.
“It started very well, but in recent weeks Michael Carrick has had a great opportunity to take the job permanently at Man United.”
However, the former Middlesbrough manager is not the 'dream' of some board members, and that is actually PSG manager Luis Enrique.
“One of the most respected names, I would say the 'dream' of someone on the board at Manchester United would be Luis Enrique,” said Romano.
“But at the moment, my understanding, the agreement between Enrique and PSG is very close. PSG has offered a new contract until 2030 with a big salary increase, and Enrique is really open to continue together.
“But the reports from France a few days ago… still nothing has been signed or completed.”

Man Utd vs Brentford squad news: De Ligt injury update
Matthijs de Ligt was pictured training on the grass as the Manchester United defender steps up his rehabilitation from a painful back injury.
The 26-year-old has made a good start to what has turned out to be a difficult season, as he has not played since helping the Red Devils to a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on November 30.
De Ligt has been unable to get the team together since Michael Carrick took over, with the United boss admitting last month that there is no guarantee the defender will play again this campaign.
The United boss said the back issue “appears to be difficult” for the Netherlands international, who has had to be patient and optimistic as he tries to overcome injury.
De Ligt will also be absent when United host Brentford on Monday, but the club have published a positive update showing pictures of him working under the guidance of the club's medical staff.
