Today's putter market is full of “zero torque” offerings. Earlier this year Bettinardi added more options to the market with 2 Hexperimental scenarios, but this time they are text-based. The new Bettinardi Hexperimental #2 adapts the high MOI shape of the 'Simply Balanced' Antidote SB2 and converts it into a heel-to-toe setup without the “zero torque” technology.
“We've had a lot of players in our tour department, from pros to beginners, love the Antidote SB2, but zero-torque isn't for everyone,” said Sam Bettinardi, president of Bettinardi Golf. “That's exactly the gap Hexperimental #2 was designed to fill.”

For me, this is a refreshing thing to see. The “zero torque” category has become so saturated that it is nice to see a limited launch return that focuses on more general performance. I was a big fan of Antidote SB2 and am excited to give Hexperimental #2 a roll. It's very similar to the Spider L-Neck I've been sporting, and I've been playing around with a lot of different options lately to see what might work. Being a milled offering is a big deal in my book. It also helps that Hexperimental #2 looks really cool.
The Hexperimental #2 is a three-piece construction with a body machined from 303 stainless steel face and 6061 aluminum body and center. The face also features their FIT Face Milling (Feel Impact Technology) which removes 30% of the material on the face to create a soft feel on the face that is always responsive.
A combination of Black Armor TPT and Distressed Blue accents make the bag attractive and combined with the matte black stock shaft and matching Bettinardi Black Hex PU grip and magnetic head cover, it's clearly a well thought out package. The color scheme is loud enough to have your golfing buddies asking questions and wanting to know what's in the bag, but toned down for quiet behind the ball at address. It also has some built-in anti-glare properties so you don't have to worry about any sunlight in your eyes when you're standing on that 4-footer to win the club championship.

I liked the Antidote SB2 so much when it came out, that I even got a broomstick version built for me, but the Simply Balanced or “zero torque” category didn't sit well with my putting greens performance. Having a regular plumber neck style fits me very well and is something that can stand a chance in the bag.
