Arsenal are pushing to sign the “mad” Champions League forward with the same agent as Arteta

Arsenal are desperate to strengthen their forward line this summer, with Mikel Arteta looking to compete in all areas again next season.

The need to sign a new left-back could be fueled by a few key moves, with Besiktas agreeing a deal to sign Leandro Trossard, while Gabriel Martinelli is being targeted by Newcastle United.

With Trossard and Martinelli set to move on this summer, the Gunners have been linked with the pursuit of a replacement, and are set to agree personal terms with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

Rogers could make an immediate impact at the Emirates Stadium, having scored 21 goals and provided 19 assists in 85 Premier League appearances for Villa.

However, Arteta & co are also looking to bring in a striker yet to prove himself in one of Europe's biggest leagues, namely Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.

Football FanCast verdict

Honesty

Arsenal may need to sign at least two new players this summer, as both Trossard and Martinelli could be heading for the exit door. As such, signing Tzolis alongside Rogers would be a smart move.

Finance

It could take £34m to prize the Greek striker away from Club Brugge, who is worth buying for the reigning Premier League champions, especially given that they will fork out £17m for Trossard's sale.

Understanding

The 24-year-old is ready to prove himself in one of Europe's biggest leagues, having racked up 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 games since signing for Club Brugge. Scout Jacek Kulig described the former Norwich City man as “crazy” in May.

Impact

Tzolis' main position is on the left, which means he could replace Martinelli. However, he can also play on the other side, which means he can replace Bukayo Saka if needed.

Arsenal are keen to seal the deal for Christos Tzolis

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Arsenal are now aiming to sign Tzolis, and they are determined to keep his signature, even if they get deals for Rogers or Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola over the line.

Arteta has made it clear he wants to keep the depth of the squad, with the Spaniard determined to win the Champions League next season, meaning two changes may be needed if Martinelli and Trossard continue.

Chrisos Tzolis is very much ready for a big move to the Premier League

Club Brugge won the Belgian Pro League title last season, while also reaching the round of 16 in the Champions League, and the 34-game Greek international was one of the most important players.

Incredibly, the Thessaloniki-born star has amassed 51 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions, proving he is ready to prove himself at one of Europe's top clubs.

The bad thing is that the star of Club Brugge has tested himself in the Champions League, scoring three goals and four assists in 21 games in this competition.

With Trossard set to leave, Tzolis, who shares the same agent as Arteta, has proved he could be his replacement, and it is good news that Arsenal are now pushing for a deal.
