After the PGA win, Aaron Rai's Spider is the hottest putter on Tour

TaylorMade's Spider putter line continues to score majors, though this time it's not from Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler or any player with a TaylorMade contract.
TaylorMade Spider Tour V Flow-neck putter Aaron Rai used to nail a 68-foot birdie putt on the 71st hole to close the door on the PGA Championship with a putter he used entirely at will.
Rai's Spider Tour V was part of the 2024 edition of the Spider putters and has occasionally earned the bags of several players, including Collin Morikawa and Nelly Korda. Shane Lowry has had one in his bag since the 2024 Zurich Classic in New Orleans, which he won with McIlroy. The Tour V model has a more tapered body than the Spider Tour or Tour X models and includes adjustable weights just behind the face, giving it a forward CG.
Using the TaylorMade Spider Tour V, Aaron Rai will become the fifth major winner in the last six to use the Spider putter in the last six.

That forward CG helps mimic the CG position of blade putters, making the Tour V a great option for players looking to get into the fairway with a smile.
Rai's putter features a unique flow neck, similar to the one Morikawa has on his Spider Tour X, which gives the putter a slight face rotation on the stroke.
The 31-year-old made the switch to this putter late last August from a TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast DuPage face-matched mallet, which also featured a Pure Roll. This past week at Aronimink, Rai was fifth in SG: Putting, getting 1.7 strokes per round on the field, including nearly four in the final round.
With the victory, the Spider Tour putter has not only won five of the last six majors, since McIlroy's win at the 2025 Masters, but has also won eight events already this season, including both majors.
Although the used Spider Tour V Rai is no longer available in stores, the Spider Tour and Spider Tour X head shapes are available and feature many of the same technologies, most notably the Pure Roll insert. TaylorMade putter advocate James Holley has demonstrated the Spider's most successful placement on Tour.

“Any of the guys that have changed like Scottie or Tommy, they see a big improvement inside that 20 meters,” Holley, who puts Rai on his Spider, told GOLF. “Especially on Tour, that's where those guys make their money. Statistically, the best putter and the worst putter from 30 feet, there's not that much of a difference in the perception of a stroke.”
There's also a new Spider Tour V shape that debuted on the PGA Tour last month, in what appears to be the next generation of putters. Brooks Koepka put that model in the game last week, which appears to be weighted forward based on weight placement.
