Justin Baldoni broke his silence two years after Blake Lively's legal drama began.
On Wednesday night, Baldoni and his wife, Emily, sat down and filmed a lengthy Instagram video. The couple detailed the last two years as filled with “injustice” and “trauma.”
“We haven't spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it's not because we have nothing to say,” Justin began the video.

He added, “Because the Lord knows we have, but it seems like every time we go to make a video like this, we want to talk, something was telling us not to. It didn't feel like the right time, and we talked about it and we felt about it and we prayed about it.”
BLAKE LIVELY SAYS 'GIRL IN PAIN' SMEAR CAMPAIGN DAMAGED HER CAREER, SUES FOR $296M
“We haven't spoken publicly for the better part of two years, and it's not because we have nothing to say.”
Emily said: “This feels like a while,” and “There's so much to say.”
The legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni stemmed from the production of the 2024 film “It Ends With Us.” Rumors of a rift surfaced during the film's press tour when Baldoni was promoting the movie separately from Lively and the rest of the cast.

In December 2024, Lively filed a complaint and later filed a federal lawsuit alleging that Baldoni sexually harassed her and, after she raised her concerns, orchestrated a campaign to damage her reputation. Baldoni denied these allegations and responded with lawsuits against Lively, Ryan Reynolds, The New York Times, and others, accusing them of defamation, fraud and trying to destroy his career.
Over the next year, the two sides engaged in a public legal battle that included the release of text messages, behind-the-scenes footage, subpoenas, and numerous amended court filings. Rather than proceed to trial, Lively and Baldoni reached a confidential settlement in May 2026 without either side admitting wrongdoing or paying a fine to the other. The remaining issue before the court is Lively's request to pay approximately $8 million in attorney's fees and litigation costs, which Baldoni opposes.

In a video uploaded on Wednesday, Justin revealed that they won't get everything together and his wife agreed, adding that they have “a lot of gratitude … for a lot of people and a lot of things that happened to us.”
“Thankfulness saved us,” added Justin.
Emily noted that despite the gratitude they both have, “it doesn't negate the injustice and pain we've felt over the past few years.”

“We had to deal with a lot of things and try to understand a lot of things, like how could something like this happen? Let alone disguise it as a women's war. It's a lot to unravel,” she continued.

Emily said the couple is going through “a lot of pain” and it's hard for them to talk about it.
“We don't know if this is the right thing to say. We just know we need to share something,” Justin said. “What I will say is that there have been a lot of painful things that have been talked about in the last few years. That created a lot of noise, and we didn't want to add to the noise. So we wanted to let the justice system continue.”

Emily added that “the truth and the facts speak for themselves.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2013, have given fans an update on how their lives are two years after the legal battle began.
“We're fine,” Justin said. “If you've ever been through something painful, you know that healing isn't linear. It looks different every day. We've had to rethink what's real, and what's important. This is it. Our family, our friends, our community, who's been theirs to us, our faith.”

He said this situation led him and Emily to grow “closer to each other, devoted, and stronger in our faith than ever before.”
Justin said Emily prayed for “people to understand” while thanking viewers for their support.

“Many of you had insight, and you used your intuition, and you trusted that. You gave your time to fight for us. Thank you is not heard enough. But we are here, in large part, because of many of you, and all our friends and family,” said Justin.
To end the video, Justin said the biggest lesson they learned from this whole trip. “When God presses the reset button, everything else is taken away, that's when love shows up,” he said.

Emily added, “And it was. There's so much more to say. The time will come. But for now, we're going to focus on continuing to heal and hanging out with our kids and enjoying life.”
Although the court battle between Baldoni and Lively is largely over, the dispute remains one of the most talked about legal issues in Hollywood due to its influence on the movie, the celebrities involved, and the wider discussion about workplace ethics and reputation management.
