JT Poston survived Sunday's championship run at Muirfield Village, playing 32 holes, including a two-hole playoff, to collect his fourth and biggest PGA Tour victory at the Memorial Championship. It is worth noting that the win saves him from playing 36 on Monday as it qualifies him for the US Open in two weeks.
Poston has revamped his golf bag over the past few months, adding several new clubs and a new golf ball to his setup.
The 33-year-old is the first PGA Tour winner with a Titleist GTS driver, who uses a 9-degree GTS3 with a Mitsubishi Diamana BF shaft. (Mitsubishi's 10th win of the year!)
He also scored the first win with the new 2026 TaylorMade Spider Torched line after switching to the Spider Tour X, L-Neck at the Charles Schwab Challenge last week. The putter change paid off big as Poston, who had played a lot of putters this season, gained nearly seven shots on the green, ranking third this week.
But he also changed golf balls, went to the 2026 Pro V1x Left Dash, in Fort Worth, and it may have helped him shoot that ridiculous 65 Friday in windy conditions, which shot him to the lead.
“It should help me a little bit in the wind,” Poston said Friday of the Pro V1x's unique downsizing. “So we felt like today was going to be a good test of that and it worked really well. We had a couple of shots that I didn't feel like they hit well and they hung there well.”
Poston first approached the Titleist's Tour team about switching to the PGA Championship, seeking better performance in the wind. He told the reps that his Pro V1x was full of irons and wedges after he recently added speed.
After testing both the Left Dash and the 2025 Pro V1 at home, Poston and Titleist JJ Van Wezenbeeck decided to add the Left Dash to Fort Worth, where he finished T35.
To Charles Schwab, Poston ranked 85th in SG: Method (+0.024). He got 1.4 strokes in the Colony before getting more than +8 SG: Closer this week and ranks T4 in GIR.
