The former Democratic presidential candidate in the South Texas border state has come under fire again as critics accuse him of disparaging the Border Patrol as racist, allegations his campaign has dismissed as a “vicious attack.”

Bobby Pulido, a former Latin music star running for Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz, is hot with a recent interview where she asserted, “It's always low in running.”

During the interview, which was on a podcast called “Mind of Geniuz,” Pulido accused the Trump administration and the Republicans' immigration enforcement agenda of being motivated by “white supremacy theory.”

“When President Trump ran, he ran and got rid of bad people. They lied to us,” said Pulido.

“It's race. It's always at the bottom of the race. And I hate to say this, because I hate to blow it, but I'm going to call it because it is what it is. Look, when they have this theory of white replacement, they say, 'Oh, no, no, if it wasn't for this and that and crime,' they'll throw in all these other things that are true. “Which is that there are too many black and Black people, who say they're going to stay like that and suffer.”

Pulido commented during the interview, “I don't want to demonize law enforcement.” However, he expressed that when it comes to immigration enforcement, “a lot of people join, not all of them, okay, there are a lot of white people who want to join because they want to go hunt people, of course, they are yahoos.”

“It's a shame,” he continued, “because you're starting to stamp all the ICE agents.”

A spokesman for De La Cruz's campaign criticized Pulido's remarks as disrespecting the Border Patrol.

Notably, just over 50 percent of Border Patrol personnel are Hispanic. The Rio Grande Valley Sector of the southern border, home to De La Cruz County, is home to about 3,100 Border Patrol agents and personnel, according to Texas Monthly.

A spokesperson said “Monica is proud to raise her children in South Texas,” emphasizing that “the abusive Border Patrol agents are the same people she spends Friday night with at carne asada, sees at her children's schools, and prays with at church on Sunday.”

“That's why he's turned his back on Congress, and that's why he's fighting every day to lower costs for families, protect Social Security and Medicare for our abuelitos, and keep our communities safe,” the spokesperson said.

In response, a spokesperson for Pulido's campaign dismissed the allegations, telling Fox News Digital in an emailed statement, “This desperate attack proves one thing, the GOP establishment is in a state of complete panic because of Mentirosa. [Spanish for ‘liar’] Monica De La Cruz is running a trash campaign and they know they are going to lose. “

“Bobby Pulido has family and friends who work in the Border Patrol and has been a lifelong supporter of our law – South Texas knows that and they will make it clear and clear in November,” the spokesperson said.

Since starting his campaign for congress, he has faced many problems, including a resurfaced music video showing him performing lewd acts and his long-term association with a bandmate who was convicted of raping a child. He vehemently denied that he knew about his partner's crime and said that he immediately broke off the relationship when he heard about it.

He also faced criticism for sharing a platform with Julión Álvarez, a ride-hailing company approved by the US Treasury Department, according to the Daily Wire. A spokesman for Pulido's campaign told the media that despite the singer-turned-politician calling him “amigo” on Facebook, “Bobby and Álvarez are not friends.” A spokesman said, “This is another case of Republicans not understanding our culture – 'amigo' is a common term.”

Zach Kraft, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, told Fox News Digital in an emailed statement that “there is a clear pattern” with Pulido.

“He sides with criminals in terms of law enforcement and families, all the time,” Kraft said, adding, “He insults the Border Patrol after spending decades bringing a convicted child rapist, who raped an eight-year-old girl, to local parks and festivals. South Texans know he has no business anywhere near Congress, and they will reject him in November.”

Meanwhile, Paul Perez, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News Digital that “Bobby Pulido insults the Border Patrol who protect our community, but he had no problem spending decades knowingly bringing a child convicted of sexual abuse into our territory or walking around with an authorized cartel operative.”

“The agents guarding this border, most of them Spanish, know exactly where Bobby Pulido is. He is not ours,” said Perez.
