RBC Canadian Open tee times: What you need to know
After shooting a second round of 63, American Ben James leads the charge in the middle of the Canadian Open with 36 points and 10 under par.
The 23-year-old just finished his senior season at the University of Virginia and is running incredibly well. The RBC Canadian Open marks James' first appearance after earning his tour card by finishing first in the PGA Tour University Rankings, and he leads the tournament by one shot after qualifying for his third US Open on Monday this week.
“I wasn't really thinking about results this week,” James said after his round. “I'm just worried about getting comfortable, making new friends and having fun, and seeing where everything falls. Just seeing where my game stacks up. Obviously I have things to work on, I'm just trying to see how everything goes. Because this is just the basics, my first game. Obviously I've had two good days, but I'm just trying to get better.”
It won't be an easy task to win a W in his first ever event as a pro – especially considering the number of players around. There are 17 players within three shots of his lead, including Sam Burns (-9), Brooks Koepka (-8) and Sahith Theegala (-7).
James will advance to the third round at 1:45 pm ET along with Sam Burns.
