Donald Trump Asks KC BBQ Owners About Patrick Mahomes' Health

The president Donald Trump apparently worried about the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' life after his season-ending injury last year.

Trump also asked Kansas City locals if they thought Mahomes would be on the field when the 2026-2027 NFL season begins. The restaurant owners told Trump they were “hopeful” Mahomes would be able to fit in for the season opener in the first week. (The NFL had not released its official schedule at press time.)
“You'll be close, won't you?” Trump asked about Mahomes' condition, too, before calling the quarterback a “good guy.”
Trump also asked the brothers if they had ever worked with Mahomes or any of the Kansas City Chiefs players. The restaurants shared that the Chiefs organization has ordered from their restaurant “occasionally.”
“Let him know, I want him to get better soon, I hope he plays the whole season,” Trump insisted.

The defender continued, “The doctors said I could be, but I can't guess what happens in the whole process. You want to be out there healthy and give us a better chance to win. I hope to do some things [Organized Team Activities] and training camp, and we can do a lot there.”
Coach Andy Reid He is always hoping for Mahomes to join the team.
“Every player is different. I'll tell you, I would never bet on him,” Reid, 68, said during the NFL's annual meetings in March, via ESPN. “He's going to put in the time and effort and keep pushing it but within reason, so he doesn't come back.”
