Ipswich Town and Leeds United are now in the race to sign AC Milan star Yunus Musah.
Despite scoring 47 points for the USMNT, Musah was not selected for Mauricio Pochettino's World Cup squad, but has been a regular in the Champions League over the past three seasons, making a total of 19 appearances in Europe's top competition.
Seven of those were loaned to fellow Serie A side Atalanta last season, with the midfielder making just 19 league appearances, and playing a total of 561 minutes, in a difficult campaign.
However, the 23-year-old has impressed in Serie A, with former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli once saying: “He has different symptoms [Rade] Krunić again [Yacine] Adli, and he can get in when he plays forward. You have qualities that we will need a lot; he is a complete player, and wherever I use him, he will be important to the team.”
As Pioli revealed, the American is capable of influencing the game in a number of different positions, including in midfield, on both flanks, and even as a right-back, making him a versatile addition to Gary O Neil's squad.
However, the Tractor Boys could face their Premier League rivals Leeds.

According to reports from Italy, Milan will green light a deal for Musah this summer if they can get just 20 million euros (£17m), the price tag of a player established in Europe's top leagues, as well as boasting Champions League and international experience.
The final decision will rest with new manager Ruben Amorim, who will take over from him before the season, but all signs point to an exit.
And it appears that Leeds are currently ahead of Ipswich in the race to sign the former Valencia man, having already linked with them, who are yet to win promotion to the 2025-26 Championship.

Ipswich are closing in on another signing in their pursuit of Musah
Although Ipswich are still in the process of signing Musah, they are looking forward to signing striker Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City, according to a Sky Sports report.
The Bulls will head out for their pre-season camp on Monday, hoping Fatawu will be able to take part, and could pay around £20m to secure his signing, if Leicester are willing to cash in.
