Manchester United are now in talks to sign the “unbelievable” Paris Saint-Germain star, in a deal that would please Bruno Fernandes.
Nicky Butt urges INEOS to step up its attack
It has been a strong campaign at Old Trafford for Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo, with the trio establishing themselves as Man United's key players, but Nicky Butt has suggested more fire is needed in attack.
With the Red Devils in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League next season, Butt believes a new striker will be needed to compete with Sesko's starting position, saying: “I don't think he can carry the team forward alone, they will need another number 9.
“He's shown he's got a lot of power, good movement, he knocks the socks off. He can score and you can see he's good in the air but he's not a complete striker for United at that level. He can get there.
“When you go into the Champions League, it's a different kettle of fish. The tempo is completely different, the pressure is completely different. You have to come back and play in the league, maybe two days later. They have to go out and buy a top player, a top player.”
Should Michael Carrick's side get over the line and qualify for the Champions League, they will be able to attract the caliber of player Butt is talking about, and they are now eyeing the PSG star.
Man Utd hold talks to sign “unbelievable” star.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Man United are now holding new talks over a deal for PSG striker Goncalo Ramos, after previously considering a move for the Portuguese player, but there will be widespread competition within the Premier League.
Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing the Portugal international, who is attracting interest from across Europe, but if Jason Wilcox can do a deal, Fernandes is happy.
Speaking about his international team-mate, the attacking player said: “If he continues to work as he has worked up to now, I believe he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world.
“He's close to that level, but he still needs to go to a more competitive league and prove it. I believe he has the potential for that.”
The 24-year-old, who earns £92k-a-week, has not been one of the first names on the PSG team sheet this season, but he has a strong goal-scoring record between the French club and Benfica.

Hailed as “unbelievable” by Statsman Dave, Ramos is at the stage of his career where he needs to play regular football, so it would make sense to leave PSG this summer, and he is capable of challenging Sesko in the starting XI.
