The Inter Milan boss heads to London as Guglielmo Vicario turns on the green light at Tottenham

Tottenham are likely to bid farewell to a key player this summer, as Inter Milan make their intentions clear.
Spurs battle for Atlético Madrid win after inspiring display
It was a night Tottenham supporters almost forgot was possible.
Three goals, the first home win in two months, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium finally erupted in unison.
Xavi Simons, brilliant all night, capped a man-of-the-match display with a second-half strike and a combined stoppage-time penalty, along with a fine performance from Archie Gray.
Randal Kolo Muani headed home Mathys Tel's excellent cross to get the ball rolling. The crowd had the courage to dream, even when Julian Alvarez and David Hancko pulled Atletico level twice, because this Spurs team kept coming back.
They went 7-5 all games combined. They had a lot of catching up to do after last week's disaster in Madrid, but a 3-2 win on the night snapped an eight-game winless run and brought something equally precious – a sliver of confidence.
Joao Palhinha makes subtle suggestion to Tottenham manager for 'quality' coach readily available
This midfielder has praised him a lot.
Igor Tudor called it a “good direction”, and the players gave a standing ovation. For a club that has been on the rise since January, last night was crucial.
Now, however, attention is turning to what this season means for the summer – and one development from Italy this morning threatens to make life for the N17 even more difficult.
Guglielmo Vicario has approved Tottenham's exit from Inter Milan
Guglielmo Vicario was solid between the sticks last night.
The Italian goalkeeper, signed at Empoli in 2023, has been one of Tottenham's most consistent performers this season, despite some criticism, and made a crucial save from Giuliano Simeone's deflection that briefly steadied the ship at 1-0.
His presence, composure and quality on his best day have been very clear since the day he arrived, making the Italian outlet Calciomercato and journalist Pasquale Garro report the most.
According to the report, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio went to London specifically to open official talks about Vicario.
More surprisingly, Vicario himself has given his approval for the move – and is said to want to leave Tottenham this summer.
The Inter connection is not new.
In 2023, when Vicario was at Empoli, the Nerazzurri were closely following him and came close to signing him before Spurs stepped in with their financial might and quickly scrapped the deal.
Inter did not forget about him, and now he is back.
The timing raises important questions for Spurs. If a club is relegated – potentially with eight Premier League games remaining and just one point a day between them and the bottom three – a fire sale becomes inevitable.
But even if they stay, losing a goalkeeper of Vicario's caliber would represent a devastating blow at the start of what should be a rebuilding summer. Finding a place of similar quality is not a straightforward task.
There will be those who point to last night's win as proof that the corner has been turned under Tudor. Air, combat, atmosphere – everything is real.
However, the Premier League run is a completely different kind of pressure, starting with Nottingham Forest at home on Sunday with six points.
Last night gave Spurs fans something to cheer about, but the Vicario news gives them something to worry about, even if he wasn't perfect.
Tottenham are now in the race to sign the £30m German whose left foot is like a stick
Spurs are determined to sign an “outstanding” player.
