LARRY KUDLOW: You ate in Los Angeles, California

Big change is coming to the Middle East, and California, too, because people are tired. Today is potpourri. President Trump told New York Post senior columnist Miranda Devine that he really works well with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He is optimistic about the deal. He would like to meet Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamanei. The naval blockade will continue. Mr. Trump thinks Iran is committed to ending its nuclear program, but he is in no rush to make a deal.

By the way, Mr. Trump told Ms. Devine that Maine Democrat Graham Platner is a big sleazebag, but Texas Democrat James Talarico is worse. The president also signaled that he is optimistic about stocks and the economy. And you are absolutely right. Large additional numbers come from new orders, manufacturing, manufacturing operations, and business.

Secretary Scott Bessent told Congress that inflation in Iran may be over 200 percent, the currency has collapsed, 50 percent of the military is unpaid, and police are not reporting to police stations. The best wartime Treasury Secretary since World War II. To starve the beast.

And the big question is whether change is coming to California. My friend Steve Hilton seems to have won the Governor's jungle primary. Here is what Mr. Trump on Truth Social:

“Congratulations to Steve Hilton for coming in first, last night, in the California Vote for Governor. If the people of California are smart, which I know they are, they will put Steve in the Governor's House, and watch their State improve to a degree that may not have been seen before.” Mr. Trump added: “I know Steve – he's a hard-driving WINNER, and he's going to turn California around, fast – and the Federal Government will be there, too, to help.”

My point. Mr. Hilton is one smart cookie and you can bet she will put together a good news campaign to stop corruption in California. Stop economic migration. Stop the tax foreclosure and take that state to recovery from dystopia. He can do it.

Then there's Spencer Pratt running a strong second in the Los Angeles mayoral race, winning the hearts of mothers and families to make Los Angeles a decent place to live again. Fires, homelessness, drugs, crime: look at Mr. Pratt putting together a first-rate campaign and strong staff to set up a City Hall-in-waiting brand. And the more you see Mayor Karen Bass, the more Mr. Pratt will do better.

He should talk to her five times a week. He can't even get a sentence out. He is supported by all the big spending, corrupt, and social interests of the central government, but positions may not follow leadership. And Mr. Pratt may even be able to beat him with sponsors who want to restore Los Angeles to its former glory.

No matter what happens in November, Steve Hilton and Spencer Pratt are bringing change to California and Donald Trump is bringing big change to the Middle East.
