Liverpool could see £75m bid accepted to sign 'clinical' Diomande alternative

Liverpool are exploring all options ahead of the summer transfer window and that includes Anthony Gordon. The Reds are long-term fans and look set to renew their interest in the Newcastle United star.
Liverpool are planning a big money move for a striker
In some ways, it looks like the focus will be on dominating Liverpool's front line this summer. Mohamed Salah proved his quality for the last time at Anfield before his farewell against Brentford and as Arne Slot sat and watched from afar, even if he was thinking about the impossible search for a replacement.
However, the Reds' search has begun ahead of the summer transfer window, with names such as Yan Diomande threatening to steal the headlines.
Klopp's new Anfield: Premier League boss “hopeful” to land Liverpool job
Liverpool's season is done and dusted, but there is still uncertainty over the future of head coach Arne Slot.
Anfield are keen on the RB Leipzig winger, but competition from Paris Saint-Germain could force them to look elsewhere.
According to TeamTalk, Liverpool could see a £75m bid accepted to sign Gordon from Newcastle this summer. The English player looks set to leave St James' Park in the coming months and although Bayern Munich will be interested, it is no secret that he dreams of becoming an Anfield star.
Whether Newcastle are willing to enter into talks with the Reds is another question, however. Their pursuit of Alexander Isak was certainly not without drama last summer and may leave a bitter taste on Tyneside, despite the record fee they received.

In terms of quality and price, Gordon is a proven Premier League option that will cost less than Diomande this summer. So, if PSG comes calling for the latter, it could be a blessing in disguise.
£75m Gordon has transformed Liverpool's attack
There are many problems for Slot to solve at Liverpool this summer, but adding another dimension to his forward line should be his priority. The Reds can complain about how the Premier League has turned out, but those complaints will fall on deaf ears when their front line remains without a quick and determined runner.
Whether it's Cody Gakpo, Isak, Hugo Ekitike or youngster Rio Ngumoha, Liverpool up front have players who pick the ball at their feet. It makes life easier for any opposition if they aren't forced to spin and chase space against at least one star player.
That's why signing Gordon is so important. While others prefer football to football, he will happily run behind. This is where his best work took place. Meanwhile, without his hand, he will once again add a much-needed boost to Liverpool's press.
England coach Thomas Tuchel, who is called “clinic”, could be a special time for young Liverpool fan Gordon to make his mark at Anfield next season.
