Arsenal make the £150m signing their summer no.1

They didn't do it the easy way, and they didn't do it the best way, but history won't remember that. History will remember the 2025/26 season as the campaign Arsenal finally ended 22 years of injury by winning the Premier League title.

But they don't end there. Now that they are up on the mountain, they intend to stay there. Just ask Liverpool how amazing the drop would be. Arsenal do not want to follow suit anytime soon.

Instead, Mikel Arteta is looking to take the final leaf out of Pep Guardiola's book and take his team to a new level this summer.

Arsenal prioritize £150m star move

When Manchester City and Guardiola reached the top of English football, they did not sit back and admire their work. The only reason they have found to show is that they have found errors. It was robotic, that's true, but it also created an unparalleled history.

The former defender had his say…

They refused to age with Sergio Aguero, accepting Erling Haaland instead. They found the perfect time to show Fernandinho the door just as Rodri was ready for the role. They did the same with Raheem Sterling. They were ruthless and that's why they created a wonderful legacy for the Premier League.

Now, Arsenal could follow suit by spending big on upgrades this summer – starting with a winger. According to The Guardian, Arsenal have made Khvicha Kvaratskhelia their top target ahead of next season and are dreaming of landing the Paris Saint-Germain star.

They won't come cheap at a reported £150m, but the Gunners have every reason to back Arteta fully this summer and have the chance to test the Georgia star in the Champions League final.

While PSG are unlikely to be keen on Kvaratskhelia, that won't stop the North Londoners from trying to end the attack with one of the best midfielders in the world.

Why Kvaratskhelia would be better than Saka

It shouldn't be like this in the summer, but every now and then a player comes along who is worth every penny. Declan Rice was one of them when he arrived for a club record £105m.

It has since been argued that he remains Arsenal's most valuable player. Now, three years later, Kvaratskhelia falls under that same category.

The PSG star has taken the Champions League by storm this season, putting Chelsea and Liverpool to the sword. Arsenal could be next this month.

The Gunners could do without witnessing his quality in Budapest, but that will convince the club's bosses to break their transfer record this summer. If the North Londoners thought Bukayo Saka was talented, they will be blown away by Kvaratskhelia.

If Arteta wants to emulate Guardiola's ferocious style, then signing Kvaratskhelia would undoubtedly do just that, with the former Napoli star enjoying a far superior season to Saka, boasting 29 goal involvements to the Englishman's 14.

The PSG star will end any hope of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left and complete Arsenal's front line.

On paper, the trio of Kvaratskhelia, Viktor Gyokeres and Saka would be one of the best in Europe. Any worries that the Gunners should not start in the opener will be over.

The £150m star is a worthy signing for the champions and is poised to successfully defend the title. Ask any Premier League opponent and they will say that Arsenal's biggest weakness comes from how they can attack one-sidedly. However, Kvaratskhelia can add an entirely new dimension.

Seeing other weaknesses can suddenly become very strong. It really wouldn't be a good idea, either. The Gunners went uphill in the end. They've been there and done it – they know how to win the Premier League title.

If Andrea Berta has the chance to move on and welcome a player of Kvaratskhelia's caliber, then Arsenal could be unstoppable this summer.
