A preview of the PGA Championship
This year's PGA Championship returns to the legendary Aronimink for a second time. But this is the first time in over 60 years. Gary Player was the last man standing at the 1962 PGA, and a long list of big-name players are hoping to join Player as the Aronimink PGA Champion this week.
The first player worth mentioning is the only one who still holds a major title for 2026: Rory McIlroy. World No. 2 is gunning for his third PGA victory and seventh major title this week following his victory at the 2026 Masters in April.
But Scottie Scheffler should give him a run for his money. Scheffler is not only World No. 1 but is also the defending champion, having captured his first PGA title last year at Quail Hollow. He finished second to McIlroy in his quest for a third green jacket at Augusta, so Scheffler hopes to flip the script this week.
Jordan Spieth will once again play for history. With a win this week, he will capture the career Grand Slam.
And don't forget about the hottest players of the past few weeks, including Cameron Young and brothers Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick. Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau leads a group of 11 players from the LIV Golf tour that is on the PGA field.
2026 PGA TV channels and streaming providers
ESPN and CBS will provide TV coverage of the 2026 PGA Championship. ESPN will broadcast telecasts of the first and second rounds on Thursday and Friday, as well as morning broadcasts on the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, CBS will take over on television to broadcast the heart of the third and final round.
