Newcastle have already signed a replacement for Gordon

Newcastle United have very little to play for in the final three games of the Premier League season as they are seven points behind the European places and nine points above the bottom three.

It is therefore unlikely that the Magpies will push for European competition or be relegated before the end of this month.

Eddie Howe and his staff should be looking ahead to the summer transfer window and their plans to ensure that the next season is not as disappointing as the previous one on the pitch.

It won't be an easy summer, however, as Newcastle will go through another transfer saga with a player exit, as happened with Alexander Isak last year before his £125m move to Liverpool.

Now, Anthony Gordon may follow in the footsteps of the Swedish striker by receiving a huge fee from St. James' Park in the coming months.

Update on Bayern Munich's pursuit of Newcastle defender Anthony Gordon

Earlier this week, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie revealed that German giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing the England player from Newcastle this summer.

The journalist revealed that the Bundesliga champions are already in talks with the Magpies over a potential summer deal for the former Everton striker, who has scored 17 goals in 46 games this season.

Downie reported that the two clubs have a good working relationship, which could help Bayern in their bid to sign the wide player, and that Newcastle are open to an offer for Gordon this summer.

However, the reporter did not reveal how much the Magpies are willing to look for the attacker, how much the German side is willing to pay for his services.

Although losing Gordon would be a huge mistake, due to his results this season, Newcastle may have already signed Howe to replace the winger.

It is worth remembering that the 25-year-old striker scored only seven goals and provided eight assists in 78 games for Everton before Newcastle decided to bring him to St. James' Park in January 2023.

Gordon had scored just three goals and not registered an assist in 16 Premier League games in the 2022/23 campaign before the Magpies snapped him up, as they sensed his potential to explode.

Now, 19-year-old talent Seung-Soo Park could replace the England international on the left wing at St. James' Park if he can develop in the same way.

Newcastle have signed the South Korean talent from Suwon Bluewings in the summer of 2025, after becoming the youngest goalscorer in South Korean football history at the age of 17 years, 3 months and 21 days.

Park scored one goal, created 13 chances, and provided two assists in 14 games and three starts in K League 2 for the Bluewings as a 17-year-old defender.

The young left-back has scored just two goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances for Newcastle U21s, but was praised for his “terrible” quality of the ball by journalist Jordan Cronin earlier this season.

Park has made the bench in the Premier League and the FA Cup this season, showing that Howe has seen potential in him, but he has yet to start for his first team.

His ability is evident, however, as described by Asian football expert John Duerden as “similar to. [Kylian] Mbappé”

With Gordon seemingly set to leave the club, possibly for Bayern Munich, in the summer, the South Korean could see his way into the first team to show what he can do at the top level in England.

He is a left-footed striker, like the England star, and has shown glimpses of quality at youth level, as Gordon did for Everton before finding consistency on Tyneside.

Howe must give him a chance to show his talent before the season, as Newcastle may already have signed the perfect replacement for their current left winger.
