LARRY KUDLOW: The Harvard-Harris poll shows that America is behind Donald Trump and the GOP

FOX Business host Larry Kudlow analyzes polls showing growing GOP support for 'Kudlow.'
America loves President Trump and the Republican Party on all the important issues, according to a major survey, the Harvard-Harris CAPS poll, conducted by former adviser to President Clinton, Mark Penn, a moderate Democrat, not a crazy person. This is a highly respected survey. Of the 2,745 registered voters surveyed, the breakdown was 977 Republicans, 984 Democrats and 785 Independents. So it's 50-50.
What is interesting about this survey is that it is consistent and consistent with many other surveys on important issues. Accessibility, economy, immigration, health care, Iran, etc. Where it differs from many other polls and the rest of the media reporting, is that while some people may blame the Republicans, they blame the Democrats the most on all the important issues.
Let's start with Iran, 74 percent of voters believe that the US is currently winning in Iran. Almost every media organization is telling us that Iran is winning, believe it or not. Then the poll continues, 74 percent believe that Iran should be prevented from getting nukes. Another 66 percent want Mr. Trump insisted on all major conditions in any negotiations. And 57 percent approve of the ban. There is a warning here for the Democrats, because as Speaker Newt Gingrich said, the Democrats have been the party supporting Iran. It's not a good place to be. And as I've said many times, Iran is going to be a sleeper problem come midterms.
Panelists Mark Penn and Reince Priebus discuss Americans' views on the US economy during the Iran War on 'Kudlow.'
Now in the economy – people are more concerned about prices and affordability. I got it. If you ask them who they trust the most to manage the economy, however, the answers are: Mr. Trump and Republicans 53 percent, Democrats 47 percent. That's a 6 point deficit.
It's usually a regular news desk, I don't care if it's the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, or the Washington Post. All remaining assets. The average news desk will think because you can afford the problem, Mr. Trump is guilty. No. People trust Democrats less.
Here's another point, open borders. On this issue, 58 percent think Democrats favor open borders. Here's another one. Voter ID. About 65 percent of those polled think Democrats oppose voter ID requirements. And they really like that Republicans are in favor of voter ID to vote. Here's another one. The congressional race, you'd think the Democrats are ahead by 10 points if you look at the media coverage day by day. It's wrong. The Harvard Harris poll shows 50-50, which historically means the GOP is ahead because in previous years the poll has taken half a dozen points from the final Republican tally.
As I always say, votes are not votes. Votes are just votes. I will also say that the media coverage is wrong. It is very biased with Mr. Trump and the GOP. And I'll add to that, most polls sponsored by the media are heavily biased with Mr. Trump and the GOP. The Harvard Harris poll is the exception and there are other exceptions, but I believe the country is very much behind Mr. And there will be a big surprise coming this November.
