AAA's national average price for regular gas rose more than nine cents in one day, from $4.30 as of Thursday to $4.392 as of Friday.

The current figure is $0.333 higher than last week's average price of $4.059, according to AAA. Last year's average for regular gas was just $3.187.

However, the highest recorded AAA national average was $5.016 on June 14, 2022, which was during President Joe Biden's administration in the White House.

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment on Friday.

The US-Iran conflict remains unresolved, and the Trump administration has been enforcing blockades on Iranian ports.

Oil prices are now high. International Brent Crude futures were above $111 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate US futures were above $105 per barrel in early trading, Barron's reported Friday morning.

“Right now there are 41 tanks with 69 million barrels of oil that the Iranian government can sell. That's about $6 billion-plus that the leadership of Iran can financially benefit from. The ban is working very well and the US forces remain fully committed to ensuring full compliance with the law,” said US Central Command Commander Adm. Brad Cooper in a statement released Wednesday.

“The people of Minnesota are paying the price for this administration's war with Iran as gas prices rise and pressure families, small businesses, and farmers across our state,” U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who is running for governor, announced in a Thursday blog post on X.

Democratic Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona declared in a Thursday column on X, “The Trump Administration's war on Iran is raising gas prices and sending summer travel costs through the roof. I'm focused on lowering costs and putting money back in the pockets of Americans so taking your family on a road trip doesn't break the bank.”

“Gas prices have just reached wartime highs, inflation has risen, and Americans are feeling the pinch. But Senate Republicans for the SIXTH time have passed a resolution requiring Congress to authorize further military action against Iran. Their silence is an endorsement of the President's questionable strategy,” Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., on Thursday at X.

The “Senate Republicans” X account retracted Durbin's comments, saying, “Under Biden and the Democrats, gas prices were over $5 per gallon and inflation was over 9% – much higher than today. Senator Durbin didn't care about inflation then, and he doesn't care now. He just wants any excuse for our terrorist regime to join forces with Iran.”
