Leeds begin the process of signing their new Raphinha

Leeds United's trip to Wembley to face Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday may have ended in defeat, but it gave fans of a generation an afternoon to remember.
It was the first time the Whites had reached this stage of the competition for the first time in 39 years, and Daniel Farke's performance undoubtedly captured the hearts of the fans.
The fans' passion will only grow in the coming weeks if the big club can defend their Premier League position during the next four outings.
Farke's men sit six points clear of their current places, and one win could secure the Whites another year at the top of English football.
With survival now far from touching distance, the management has already started work on improving the squad ahead of next summer's transfer window.

Leeds are already working on a 26-goal deal this summer
In recent weeks, Leeds have been linked with a number of Wolverhampton Wanderers stars after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.
Winger Matheus Mane is one of the players to appear on their shortlist, after the 18-year-old enjoyed a successful campaign under Rob Edwards.
The youngster, who has scored two goals in 23 games, could appear to be missing from the Whites' price list this summer – with Wolves demanding £50m for his signing this window.
Mane isn't the only attacking option currently being eyed by officials, with Feyenoord star Ayase Ueda another player valued by staff behind the scenes.
According to TEAMtalk, Leeds have already sent scouts to watch the Japanese international, who has scored 26 goals in all competitions so far this campaign.
The report states that the likes of Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the 27-year-old when the window opens in June.
It is not clear how much the striker's deal will cost this summer, but it is likely that the Dutch club will be keen on a significant return on the £9m fee paid for his signing in 2023.
Why Ueda will be Leeds' next Rafinha
Leeds have had many players capture the hearts of fans during their time at Elland Road – but none quite like Raphinha who has won.
The Brazilian arrived for £17m from French side Rennes back in the summer of 2020, with very few fans aware of the striker's talents.
However, the 29-year-old wasted no time in demonstrating his quality to fans, as evidenced by his combined tally of 15 goals and assists during his first year in Yorkshire.
His second and final campaign with the Whites saw Raphinha score 11 goals – including a goal to secure survival – before leaving for a club-record £55m transfer to join Spanish giants Barcelona.
Many players have tried and failed to emulate the Brazilian at Elland Road, but Ueda could be the man to step up and eventually take his place in the final third.
The Japanese international will look like a full-back when he moves to Leeds as an unknown quantity to many, but he will certainly provide the threat needed in 2026/27.
His tally of 26 goals throughout the ongoing campaign is more than double that of any player on the Yorkshire books – which shows the talent he possesses in front of goal.

His basic stats from 2025/26 also show his all-round talent in forward positions, with the 27-year-old able to emulate Raphinha in becoming a fan favorite at Elland Road.
Ueda has achieved an impressive 46% target accuracy rate in the Eredivisie, while registering an average of 1.7 shots per 90 targets this campaign.
While the latest figures for the aforementioned figures are the highest of any top Leeds player this term, they also place him in the top 15% of the best strikers in Europe – highlighting his interest in the club.
Only two of his 26 goals this campaign have come from outside the 18-yard box, showing his fox-in-the-box style – something that would greatly improve the Leeds side.
The Feyenoord talisman managed to become the focal point of the Dutch outfit, after which he won 54% of the aerial duels he entered this term.
His threat to the opposition can't be underestimated, as evidenced by his 2.1 fouls per 90 tackles – defenders often have to abuse him to keep him from scoring.
While it is unclear how much Ueda will cost this summer, Leeds should be looking for a striker who has proven ability to find the net with ease.
He has the ability to make himself a fan favorite at any transfer, even mimicking Raphinha in arriving as an unknown star and leaving as a top talent.
