During the investigation, detectives focused on a white sedan that was found near the scene and was towed away. Officials said during a press conference that there may have been a third person in the car. However, that person is not considered a suspect as of this time.
It is not yet clear whether the shooting took place inside or outside the vehicle.

He added that J'Mauri and Jeremiah were best friends and called each other cousins.
Darius MalcolmJ'Mauri's cousin, added that the teenager was always being driven.
“He was mischievous and fun and funny. He had an entrepreneurial spirit. He wanted to work for his money,” Malcolm said. I look at both of them as nephews and they are both gone, no brainer. They were good children from good parents, and they were very young. They had everything they needed to succeed in life, everything. These were not two troubled children.
