The £20m Premier League star is now Everton's number 1 target

Everton have undoubtedly come out of troubled days under Farhad Moshiri, but they still struggle for one thing under the Friedkin Group – consistency.
At times in the 2025/26 campaign, David Moyes' men looked like they could compete with the Premier League's best – as evidenced by their 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
However, those games were few and far between, as the Toffees stumbled on a seven-match winless run at the end of the season.
As a result, the club missed out on a place in Europe and subsequently ended the campaign in 13th place – highlighting the need for further reinforcements this summer.
The ongoing window provides a great opportunity for managers to spend money and give the manager more quality in key areas of the team.
Everton are preparing a bid to sign an attacking talent this summer
Over the past few weeks, Everton have started to ramp up their transfer business, targeting a number of Premier League attacking stars.
Departing Fulham star Harry Wilson has emerged as a top target, with the Wales international set to leave the Cottagers when his contract expires at the end of the month.
The 29-year-old is said to be on the radar of the likes of Aston Villa and Leeds United, but no consideration has yet been given as to which club the player wants to join at the moment.
Wilson is not the only attacking option to emerge from the Toffees' shortlist as of late, with West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen another player under consideration.
According to Alan Nixon, Everton are preparing a £20m bid for the England star after being relegated to the Premier League at the end of last season.
His report also states that the 29-year-old has emerged as Moyes' best player this window after managing the striker at the London Stadium.
However, it is currently unclear whether the Hammers will be open to offloading their club captain in this window and will undoubtedly demand a bigger fee than what Everton will offer.
Why Bowen would be better than Everton's Ndiaye
Everton's inconsistency this season has undoubtedly cost them a place in Europe, but that doesn't mean the likes of Iliman Ndiaye haven't been looked at in 2025/26.
The Senegal international finished the latest campaign with six goals and three assists – only Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Beto have registered more goals and more assists.
His stunning strike against Chelsea back in March was arguably the highlight of his season, but the 26-year-old also scored the club's first goal at Hill Dickinson against Brighton in August.

Ndiaye has also been guilty of showing inconsistency in the Premier League, having failed to register a goal or assist in any of the last seven games – which has contributed to the Toffees' inability to secure a win.
He is undeniably one of Moyes' most important players at the moment, but a move for Bowen could see the England international become the club's new talisman.
Although he lost to West Ham last season, it didn't stop the 29-year-old from attracting attention with his impressive numbers in attacking areas.
Bowen finished the season with nine goals and 11 assists, with his total of 20 goals more than double what Ndiaye could muster.
The Hammers star's dominance over the Senegalese midfielder is also reflected in his basic stats – which could give Everton the extra star quality they are looking for this summer.
Bowen, dubbed “world class” by Ian Wright, managed to create 0.4 chances per 90 while also achieving an 18% Premier League interception rate.
The former of the aforementioned figures puts him in the top 15% of strikers in Europe, while both are higher than the numbers produced by the Toffees' current defender.
Such numbers highlight the Englishman's talent in attacking areas of the pitch, which could give Everton the talent they need to find consistency and success next term.
The West Ham star also managed to win more mistakes, while registering more shots on 90 – confirming his dominance over Ndiaye in the final third.
£20m for a player of Bowen's caliber would be a fantastic piece of business for Moyes' men and could provide the right winger needed to fit the manager's plan.
While he may star alongside Ndiaye on Merseyside, the 26-year-old is likely to hand over the burden of being the club's main player to transfer targets.
