Cowboys Cheerleader Reece Weaver Explains Decision To Retire

Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Reece Weaver explained why she decided to hang up her iconic boots after becoming a fan favorite on Netflix America's Sweethearts.
“Going into season 3, my third year on the team, I just had a lot of gratitude,” Weaver, 24, said to himself. Us Weekly. “My cup was full even going into this year. I had that in my mind. I was excited and looking forward to year three and what it brought. But my cup was really starting to fill up. I went into my last game not thinking and knowing it was my last, but I treated it like it was my last, so I could just put everything in. I think I really needed that mindset.”
Weaver said he made up his mind in early March 2025, just before he told the DCC director the news. Kelli Finglass and DCC music producer Judy Trammell.
“I can't remember the last time I was this nervous going into a conversation,” Weaver recalled. “I wasn't afraid to tell them, I was actually the one to say it out loud.”
He added, “Thankfully they were very supportive and excited about this next chapter for me to endure. I think that really reassured me.”
Weaver and her husband, Is Allmanhe got married in April 2024, shortly after his first season with the club and two months before the start of season 1 America's Sweetheartswhich made Weaver an almost overnight celebrity.

“We never see what life is like for young people,” said Weaver. “I'd be lying if I said we didn't talk about the future and stuff like that. But Will supported me and sacrificed a lot to make my dreams come true. No matter what decision I made, he would support me no matter what.”
Allman quit his job at a power washing company as Weaver's fame skyrocketed, helping his wife manage all the opportunities, product deals and chaos that came with it.
Weaver admitted it's been a “lovely” transition as she and Allman figure out what the future of their relationship looks like. The couple — who met at the University of Alabama — recently moved from Texas to Alabama, Allman's home state.
“We cannot go back and change what has happened and what our new reality looks like. I think that is special,” he said. “At first I was like, 'What are we doing, what's going on? How are we going through all this?' But I think it ultimately made our marriage stronger and our relationship stronger. I'm very excited to put that into the next season of our lives.”
Season 3 of America's Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is available now on Netflix.
