NBA Finals Game 3 preview: Why the Knicks at Madison Square Garden are being misbooked

Covering the NBA gives you the opportunity to see a lot of posts from people and a lot of content that makes you shake your head. Almost every casual fan thinks the game consists of nothing but hoops, only 3-point shooting, and the best, or worst, defenders ever. It's a season of hot takes and all-or-nothing thinking.
It's easier to just watch the highlights and get to the conclusion than it is to watch the full game and see the great passes and moves that set up those corner threes that we're so angry about. Game 1 and Game 2 of the NBA Finals brought some great basketball and I think Game 3 will be great as well.
The San Antonio Spurs blew it. Not only did they lose once in Game 2; they lost many times. I don't think there is even a small chance for Spurs to win the title. They took five games to beat the Portland Trail Blazers, six to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, and seven to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is a lot of basketball for a team that is 25 years old or younger at almost every key position. I don't mean from a fatigue level, but mentally, that's a lot to handle. We see that they are young and prone to mistakes.

In Game 2, the Spurs had a big lead and gave it away. In the fourth quarter, their leader, Victor Wembanyama, urged his team to bring them back into the game. They responded, took the lead, lost, tied it, and scored the game. Somehow they got New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson to miss a clutch shot, then turned the ball over with a dumb pass – call it miscommunication if you want, I'll call it dumb.
Wemby's foul play and just one free throw gave the Spurs the ball with about seven seconds on the clock. That means the entire playbook was open. Wembanyama is determined to hit a 20-foot jumper, arguably the worst shot in basketball.
The game was over, and the Knicks escaped despite hitting a late lead. It is a big sign for the New York team that they won that game with a lot of key players in the problem of not doing well. I am sure that if they had lost, many talking people would have complained that the referees were unfair. The referees were bad for both teams. They allow for more physical play, and as a spectator, I prefer that. I don't expect that to be the case in Game 3, as I think they will be heavily influenced by the crowd whenever Brunson is touched.
KNICKS SURVIVE TO TAKE A 2-0 NBA GAME BEHIND JALEN BRUNSON'S CLUTCH SINSE SPURS.

The Knicks don't need to do anything different to win this game. Keep rotating the shooters, keep getting the extra man with their passes. It wasn't difficult. They are making the game easy right now and the game is rewarding them.
Madison Square Garden will rock. The court will be full of big names. President Donald Trump will be in the building, and no matter what you think of him, he's going to get a lot of boos when they show him. It's going to be a madhouse. And you're trying to tell me the Spurs will be ready for that? It's not a chance.

I don't know if it's because they've won 13 games in a row, or because Wembanyama is the public's favorite, but the books continue to not use the Knicks. I took Spurs' last game, and for the most part, they looked the better team. Still, the Knicks found a way to win. Now they're at home in what's going to be a madhouse, and they're going to be power-hungry (by the way, San Antonio seems best as a 50/50 Knicks/Spurs fandom split). Give me the Knicks on the money line.
